Medan Prosecutor's Office Receives Three Seized Cars in CPO Export Corruption Case
MEDAN - The Medan District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in North Sumatra received three units of cars confiscated by investigators from the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) in the case of alleged corruption in the management of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) exports and its derivatives in the period 2020-2024.
Medan District Attorney's Intelligence Officer Valentino Harry Manurung said the vehicle was deposited for the purpose of further investigation, as well as securing evidence so that it remains in good condition until the trial process.
"We only receive a deposit and are responsible for securing the evidence," said Valentino in Medan, Saturday.
He said the vehicle belonged to the suspects from private elements who were domiciled in Medan City and its surroundings.
His party said that the entire investigation process, the determination of suspects, to the detention was entirely the authority of the Special Task Force of the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.
In addition to vehicle storage, the Medan District Attorney facilitated the implementation of searches carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission team at a number of company offices and private homes of the suspects in the Medan City area, North Sumatra, on February 12-13, 2026.
During the search, investigators secured various export administrative documents, electronic devices, and financial transaction data suspected of being related to the practice of manipulating the classification of CPO commodities.
"The search was carried out by a team from the center. We helped security and coordination with local authorities so that activities could run in a conducive manner," he said.
He added that investigators are currently still investigating the flow of funds from the alleged corruption, including indications of bribery or kickback practices to officials to pass the illegal export administrative process.
