Ministry of Trade Releases 250 Thousand Units of Nteri Relief to South Korea

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) through the Directorate General of National Export Development (Ditjen PEN), Friday, February 13, released 250,000 units of pain relief drugs with the Tylenol brand produced by PT Integrated Healthcare Indonesia (IHI) worth Rp2.4 billion to South Korea (South Korea).

Director General of PEN Fajarini Puntodewi said the export of Indonesian pharmaceutical products, including to the South Korean market, showed the competitiveness of the domestic industry which was getting stronger.

"The export of pharmaceutical products like this is a tangible proof of Indonesia's production capabilities in the global supply chain," said Puntodewi in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 14.

Puntodewi hopes that the company can continue to strengthen its commitment to developing its production capacity in Indonesia.

He also hopes that there will be knowledge and technology transfer to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian pharmaceutical products.

The government continues to encourage the strengthening of collaboration with investors and business actors. This effort is to enlarge Indonesia's role in the global supply chain, which is in line with the downstream agenda as the main strategy for increasing national added value and competitiveness.

Puntodewi said that this time's export release was a strategic momentum in strengthening export commitments, especially after this company received a bonded area facility from the Directorate General of Customs on December 16, 2025.

The bonded area provides fiscal ease and support for the smooth production and export.

This facility supports cost efficiency, strengthening product competitiveness, and expanding market penetration.

The Central Statistics Agency recorded the performance of Indonesian pharmaceutical exports in the last five years (2021-2025) showed a positive trend with a growth of 7.63 percent.

In addition, in 2025, South Korea was recorded as the third largest export destination for Indonesian pharmaceutical products with a value of 75.46 million US dollars or contributing 10.24 percent to Indonesia's total pharmaceutical exports to the world.

Globally, world demand for pharmaceutical products in the 2020-2024 period showed a positive trend of 11.02 percent.

The world's pharmaceutical industry revenue reached 1.16 trillion US dollars in 2024 and is projected to increase to 1.53 trillion US dollars in 2030 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.74 percent.
