Midnight Sale is an Effort for Mal Kerek to Shop for the Community during Ramadan-Lebaran

JAKARTA - The Head of the Promotion Program of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (DPP APPBI) and General Manager of Kasablanka Kota Mall, Agung Gunawan, said that the Midnight Sale Program was one of the efforts to attract people's shopping interest, especially ahead of Ramadan and Lebaran 2026.

This was conveyed by Agung at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday, February 13.

"From APPBI we have prepared some bullets, lah, for these consumers to shop at our malls. One of them is that we definitely advise shopping centers to make midnight sales," said Agung.

Agung explained that usually APPBI member malls have implemented the program two weeks before the momentum of Eid al-Fitr.

"Usually two weeks before Lebaran, at payday or THR, malls have sprung up to make Midnight Sales. Some are two days, three days. In fact, there are Saturdays and Saturdays," he said.

According to him, the Midnight Sale program is also one of the steps to encourage the national economy.

"Well, that's one of the bullets we use for consumers to shop and move the Indonesian economy," he said.

In addition, Agung claimed that currently people's purchasing power is still maintained. The reason, he said, customer transactions at Mal Kota Kasablanka itself increased by 3 percent in January 2026.

"So if you say Generation Z is now in this economy, in this economy, in fact, the data is not like that. There are still many, kok, who shop like that. In fact, it increased by 3 percent," said Agung.

Not only that, continued Agung, there are also many retailers who are interested in opening stores in malls.

"And it can also be seen from the enthusiasm of retailers, especially Indonesian retailers who want to open stores in malls. The waiting list, if we count three years back, is still strong, there are still many who want to open stores. So, from there we are optimistic that the economy can still move and consumer purchasing power is also quite high," he concluded.
