Dasco: DPR-Government Immediately Complete the Employment Law
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad ensured that the government and the DPR would continue to work hard to immediately complete the new Employment Law.
"We are pursuing the target that this October there will be a new Labor Law," Dasco said in his statement, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 13.
According to Dasco, the remaining time until October will be used by the DPR to hold dialogues and collect as many inputs as possible from all labor stakeholders.
October 2026 is the deadline given by the Constitutional Court when revoking Law No. 6 of 2023 concerning Cipta Kerja in November 2024.
Dasco said the DPR would absorb as widely as possible the aspirations of various parties so that the Employment Law would later be truly fair, both for workers, employers and the government.
"I am no longer in the opposition, so it is important for me to be with the workers because if Indonesia's workers are prosperous, they will be prosperous," said Dasco.
Previously, the General Chair of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers (KSPSI) Moh. Jumhur Hidayat hoped that the government and the DPR could immediately complete the drafting of the new Employment Law.
"Because there is Prof. Dasco in the DPR, we put that hope," said Jumhur.
