Raisa Memaknai Kenangan dan Kehilangan dalam Kuharap Duka Ini Selamanya

JAKARTA - Raisa presents a personal work in the form of a single titled Kuharap Duka Ini Selamanya. This song is part of Raisa's long process who has recently lost her beloved mother.

In that phase, Raisa realized one thing, that she and duka were no longer inseparable. The grief did not disappear, was not finished, and did not really go away. It will always live inside her.

From this space of contemplation, this song was born to become one of the most personal works in Raisa's musical journey. Not about letting go of sadness, but about embracing it.

For the 35-year-old singer, there are sweet memories of the person he loves most behind the sadness. Sadness is no longer just a sense of loss, but a space where love remains alive.

"At first I thought grief was something I had to go through and leave. But it turns out, the more I try to avoid it, the more I realize that in grief there is a great love," Raisa said in a written statement received by VOI, February 13.

Deeper, Raisa wants to convey that in the word 'grief' there is a longing, memory, and warmth that will never really disappear. Loss does not erase love. In fact, grief becomes a companion who reminds us that the people who have left stay in our hearts.

"This song is not about forgetting or moving on. It's about how we move forward while still carrying the love that once existed," he said.

In reflective months like Ramadan, when togetherness feels warmer and absence feels more real, this song comes as a companion for those who miss parents, friends, or loved ones who have passed away.

"Ramadan always makes me more silent and remembering. There is an empty chair, there is a voice that is no longer heard. This song I wrote for such silent spaces," said Raisa.

In the process of recording and producing this song, Raisa again worked with Barsena Bestandhi as a vocal director, and collaborated with Gerald Situmorang as a producer for the first time.

I hope this song is not just a song about losing a mother. It is a song about missing someone about how everyone, in time, will feel the loss. This song is a reminder that grief is proof of having loved with all your heart.

"If we still feel the longing, it means that love is still there. And maybe, that's how they stay with us," concluded Raisa.
