92 Percent Progress, the Inauguration of the Bendera Pusaka Park Back to March

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reviewed the construction of the Pusaka Flag Park in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The Pusaka Flag Park is designed to have a total area of 5.6 hectares when all connections between areas are completed. Later, a 1.2 kilometer jogging track will be available.

He said that the physical progress of the park, which combines Ayodya Park, Langsat Park, and Leuser Park, has reached 92 percent, but the inauguration has fallen behind the initial target.

"What is now completed, the progress to date is 92 percent. And I hope, ask, for this park to be inaugurated no later than March this year," said Pramono, Friday, February 13.

According to Pramono, the delay occurred because the same location was also built a wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) by the Water Resources Service (SDA).

"It has indeed experienced a slight setback because this place will also be built by Ibu SDA. Why should it be built here? So that first, the water will not smell, the water will become clean, and this place will become a flood control in this area," explained Pramono.

Pramono explained that the remaining eight percent of work includes the construction of a connecting tunnel from Taman Langsat to Leuser which crosses under Jalan Kiai Maja, as well as a number of final or finishing works.

"For example, the tunnel from Taman Langsat to the Leuser tunnel. Because it is indeed on top of Jalan Kiai Maja. So that's what hasn't been completed and finalized or the finishing touch on some parts. But I'm sure that by the end of February this year it will definitely be finished," said Pramono.

The Governor also reminded that the maintenance of the park was prepared from the beginning so that the facilities that had been built would not quickly be damaged. In the park area, a number of sports facilities are available, such as padel courts, badminton, basketball, to playground areas and multifunctional spaces. Pramono ensures that the padel court in the park can be used free of charge.

"As I said before, anyone who wants to play padel here will still be free. So it depends if there is a paid padel on another court. In Taman Bendera Pusaka, the padel is free," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Office, Ika Agustin Ningrum, explained that the Pusaka Flag Park was designed with the concept of a green open space and a water reservoir. Water will be temporarily stored before being drained downstream. Therefore, he reminded the possibility of flooding during the rainy season.

"The Pusaka Flag Park is designed to integrate blue and green. In the dry season, it functions as a park. For the rainy season, for an intensity of 150 millimeters of rainfall, it is still able to accommodate flood discharge for downstream areas such as Hang Lekir, Hang Jebat," explained Ika.
