Anticipating Traffic Surge During Ramadan and Eid, XLSMART Prepares 100 MBTS
JAKARTA - Ahead of Ramadan and Lebaran 2026, XLSMART said it had prepared all its services ranging from network infrastructure to customer services to ensure customer comfort is maintained.
XLSMART Director & Chief Technology Officer, Shurish Subbramaniam, said that XLSMART service traffic is estimated to jump by around 20% - 30% during the Ramadan period and during the Lebaran long holiday.
"We are very serious in strengthening the readiness of the network to ensure that there are no disruptions during this special moment. This readiness will continue during the long Lebaran holiday," Shurish said in an official statement quoted on Friday, February 13.
To cope with the surge in traffic and ensure that the network remains maintained during this period, XLSMART operates more than 100 MBTS (Mobile Base Transceiver Station) in various regions/regions, including around 60 5G MBTS. The placement of MBTS locations is most carried out in the Java area.
For areas that are the destination for homecoming, network utilization will reach 60-70%. Major cities in Central Java and East Java will experience a significant increase in traffic, especially on the homecoming route and tourist areas.
XLSMART network is expected to experience an increase in traffic in almost all regions/regions, and Java is still the main contributor to the increase in traffic.
XLSMART has also alerted maintenance and optimization teams to be on standby during the homecoming period. XLSMART's NOC (Network Operations Center) will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to monitor network conditions.
Not to forget, XLSMART also continues to coordinate with relevant parties including the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) to maintain network smoothness during Ramadan and Lebaran.
