Food Task Force Ensures Staple Food Prices in Medan are Stable Ahead of Ramadan

JAKARTA - The Food Task Force of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has ensured that the prices of a number of basic commodities at the Simpang Limun Market in Medan, North Sumatra, are relatively stable ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

"We are together with the North Sumatra Provincial Government monitoring the market is still in a stable condition and in accordance with government regulations," said the Food Task Force Team of the National Police, Kombes Pol Nasrun Pasaribu, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 13.

In the monitoring, a number of food items are relatively normal prices such as red chili at Rp32 thousand per kilogram, chicken meat at Rp42 thousand per kilogram, beef at Rp142 thousand per kilogram, MinyaKita is still in accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET) of Rp15,700 per liter.

Furthermore, he said, from the monitoring, the prices of basic commodities for the needs of the local community showed that they were still relatively normal ahead of Ramadan in the Medan market.

"In the future, we also monitor basic commodities, especially ahead of Eid, to see the movement of basic commodity prices," he said.

The Head of the Economic Bureau of the North Sumatra Provincial Secretary, Popy Marulita Hutagalung, added that his party was committed to maintaining the stability of prices and the availability of basic commodities for the community.

"We from the North Sumatra Provincial Government will continue to maintain stocks for community needs, including price stability, and the increase that has occurred is still within reasonable limits," he explained.

He said that in general there was a slight increase, but it was still within reasonable limits. The most important thing is that the stock of goods is sufficient.

The synergy between the Food Task Force of the National Police, North Sumatra Police, North Sumatra Provincial Government, and Bulog is expected to be able to maintain price stability and ensure that people can carry out Ramadan prayers calmly without worrying about basic needs.
