Prabowo: 10 regencies are not yet normal after the Sumatra disaster
JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto received a report from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian regarding the development of the recovery of disaster-affected areas, which currently has 10 districts that have not fully returned to normal.
The report was submitted by Tito as the Head of the Task Force (Satgas) for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the Post-disaster Region of Sumatra.
"He reported to me. Sir, if I'm not mistaken, 52 points, 52 points that were affected, were hit, only 10, only 10 districts that are still not normal," said Prabowo at the inauguration and groundbreaking of 1,179 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) and the inauguration of 18 Polri food security warehouses in Palmerah, West Jakarta, Friday, February 13, reported by ANTARA.
The President said based on the report, the recovery in the 10 districts that are still affected is expected to be completed in about two months.
"But he reported, his estimate in the remaining two months will be normal," he said.
On that occasion, the President also touched on the involvement of state officials in disaster management. The President said that TNI and Polri personnel were at the disaster site for quite some time, ranging from several weeks to more than a month, to help affected people.
Prabowo assessed that the presence of the TNI, Polri, and relevant ministries and agencies in the field showed that the state was present in the face of the disaster situation.
The effort is carried out in a coordinated manner to overcome the difficulties of residents and accelerate the recovery process in the affected areas.
"I thank you, in a few weeks we will deploy our strength, we will all work together to overcome it until now," said the President.
The Head of State also expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the apparatus in the field in handling disasters, including the death of personnel while carrying out their duties.
"This is a proof of two important milestones again, two important milestones of the state, of the Republic of Indonesia, the TNI and the National Police have shown their achievements, their dedication in the field with sacrifices. Some of them died while carrying out their duties," said Prabowo.
