Apple Launches Latest Beta Firmware for Three AirPods Models

Apple has launched the latest firmware in beta versions for a number of AirPods. Devices listed include AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4.

This update was launched to improve the capabilities of the audio device. Considering that this update is still in beta, only users registered as developers can feel the update first.

Launching from 9to5mac, this beta version comes with the development number 8B5034f. Users registered in the beta program will receive update notifications on their devices in the near future.

The version currently being tested in the beta version with the firmware available to the public currently looks like it has a very different development number. AirPods Pro 3 currently still uses version number 8B34, while AirPods Pro 2 is at version 8B28.

AirPods 4 also has a different public firmware base with the development number 8B21. Apple often implements different technical approaches between public releases and experimental versions.

Like other Apple audio updates, users can't manually install it. This firmware update will be installed automatically in the background while the AirPods are charging.

For users who want to try the firmware, they must first enable the beta firmware option. This software can be activated through the AirPods menu in iPhone Settings.

The presence of this firmware is expected to bring improvements in sound quality and connectivity. There is no further information regarding when the firmware will be released in a stable version to the public.
