March The Government Verifies BPJS PBI Door to Door
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs together with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will update the data of BPJS Participants for Assistance in Contributions (PBI) through direct verification to the recipient's home or door to door. This step is focused on 106,153 recipients who have catastrophic diseases and have previously been deactivated.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul said that the ground check method was carried out to ensure the validity and accuracy of data on health insurance premium assistance recipients. This update is a follow-up to the results of a joint meeting with the DPR.
"We will conduct a ground check by visiting the disabled fee assistance recipients directly, especially those with catastrophic diseases. This is part of the process of verifying and validating data so that it is targeted," said Gus Ipul.
He explained that updating data door to door was considered important to ensure the real social and economic conditions of the recipients, including ensuring that they are still in the category of poor and vulnerable people according to the welfare desil.
BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that field checks would be carried out in early to late March, after being preceded by the preparation and training of officers throughout February.
"In February we use it for planning, training officers, and coordination with the regional BPS. The ground check is carried out in the first and second week of March, then continued with data processing and anomaly checking until the end of March," said Amalia.
The door to door process will involve BPS regional officers, statistical partners, and the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistants. This collaboration is expected to be able to accelerate and improve the accuracy of data updates.
While waiting for the results of field verification, the government has reactivated BPJS PBI membership for these 106,153 recipients for three months. The status of membership will be determined based on the results of data updates.
Gus Ipul emphasized that the results of field checks would be the basis for determining the eligibility of recipients, whether they would still receive membership fees or be transferred to the self-employed participant scheme if they no longer meet the criteria. This step is expected to ensure that health insurance assistance is targeted and based on accurate data.
