Corruption Case, Jambi Prosecutor's Office Searches DPRD Secretariat Office

JAMBI - Jambi High Prosecutor (Kejati) investigators conducted a search and seized a number of documents from the Merangin Regency DPRD Secretariat's office in the context of investigating the alleged Corruption Crime case of budget management in 2019 - 2024.

The search, which began at 10.30 WIB, was part of the investigation stage to collect and find valid evidence as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), said the Head of the Legal Information Section of the Jambi Prosecutor's Office, Noly Wiyaya, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 13.

This step was taken to strengthen the evidence and reveal the construction of the alleged corruption case in question.

During the activity, the investigation team found and secured a number of documents and electronic evidence in the form of computers, laptops, and mobile phones that were suspected to be directly related to the case.

All the evidence found was then taken to the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office at around 17.30 WIB for further analysis and then processed in accordance with the law regarding seizure.

Noly Wiyaya, confirmed the existence of the search activities and emphasized that the action was a pro-justice step that was carried out professionally, measured, and according to legal procedures.

"The search was carried out based on the needs of the investigation to find and secure evidence that has a direct relationship with the case. All series of activities are carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," said Noly Wiyaya.

Furthermore, it was conveyed that all the results of the search would be comprehensively reviewed by the investigation team to determine their relevance as evidence in the next stage of proof.

The Jambi High Prosecutor's Office reiterated its commitment to completing the alleged Corruption Criminal Case professionally, objectively, and accountable, and appealed to all parties to respect the ongoing legal process while upholding the principle of presumption of innocence.
