The Victim of the Miras Oplosan Death in Subang Increased to 9 People

SUBANG - The number of deaths due to consuming oplosan liquor in Subang Regency, West Java, has increased again. As of Thursday, February 12, the total number of deaths reached nine people after one resident was declared dead early Thursday.

The nine victims died gradually from Monday (9/2/2026) to Thursday. Meanwhile, three other victims are still undergoing intensive care at the Subang Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

Based on the information collected, the victims came from several different groups. However, they are known to consume the same type of drink, namely vodka-type drinks Big Boss or also known as Gembling.

The drink was allegedly bought at the same store. Until now, the authorities are still investigating the origin and content of the oplosan liquor.

On Thursday, two victims were buried in succession at the Dungus Biru Public Cemetery (TPU), Cigadung, Subang Regency. The atmosphere of grief enveloped the funeral procession, including when the family released one of the victims named Dede Candra.

The head of the Subang Regency Health Office, Dwinan Marchiawati, confirmed the number of deaths due to the oplosan liquor case.

"So far, nine people have died as a result of oplosan liquor, and three others are still undergoing intensive care at Subang Hospital," said Dwinan.

He appealed to the public to be more careful in consuming drinks and food to prevent similar incidents.

"We remind the public to be more careful in consuming drinks or food, so that this kind of incident does not happen again," he added.

The local government hopes that the tragedy of oplosan liquor that killed nine residents will be the last in Subang Regency. This case is again a reminder of the dangers of oplosan liquor which often causes casualties.
