Officially Become a Sponsor of Pelita Jaya in IBL 2026, Bank Jakarta Targets Young People and Sport Tourism

JAKARTA - Bank Jakarta officially became a sponsor of Pelita Jaya to face the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) competition. The collaboration was launched at the Soemantri Brodjonegoro Student Stadium, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

This cooperation adds to the list of Bank Jakarta's support in the sports sector, after previously collaborating with Persija Jakarta.

The Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Youth and Sports, Dicky Budi Ramadhan, called this collaboration as a concrete form of support for the development of sports in the Capital City.

"This collaboration is a tangible manifestation that Bank Jakarta must be present in every element of city development, including sports. The Governor of DKI Jakarta has great attention to the sports sector because sports can unite citizens, build a spirit of togetherness, and strengthen Jakarta's identity as a progressive and competitive city," said Dicky, Thursday, February 12.

According to him, the achievements of sports clubs can have an impact on the sense of pride of residents towards their city. Dicky also appreciates Bank Jakarta's consistency in supporting sports.

"Hopefully, many other companies can follow Bank Jakarta's steps in participating in developing sports in Jakarta," he said.

Bank Jakarta's Compliance Director, Ateng Rivai, said the support for Pelita Jaya was a continuation of the company's commitment to building a sports ecosystem in Jakarta.

"Through this support, we emphasize the role of Bank Jakarta as a strategic partner that contributes to the development of sports, the training of young generations, as well as the improvement of literacy and financial inclusion in the basketball community environment, as well as expanding the reach of brand engagement to the basketball community and dynamic urban communities," explained Ateng.

Pelita Jaya itself is known to have a strong supporter base, the majority of whom are young people who are familiar with digital technology. This is considered in line with the transformation of Bank Jakarta as a BUMD that develops digital-based banking services.

President of Pelita Jaya, Andiko Ardi Purnomo, said this collaboration was part of the steps to make Jakarta a global sport tourism city. He alluded to the team's big target in the upcoming season which coincides with the commemoration of Jakarta's five hundred years in 2027.

"We express our gratitude for the commitment and participation of Bank Jakarta together with Pelita Jaya. We are optimistic that this cooperation will further strengthen the team's achievements and positive contributions to society," said Andiko.

"With the support of Bank Jakarta, we will continue to fight to present the fifth star for Pelita Jaya which coincides with the 500th anniversary of Jakarta," he added.

This cooperation includes Bank Jakarta brand exposure on the team's official attributes and promotional materials, activation of branding during home matches throughout the season, to collaboration on digital content and engagement programs with the community.

Sponsorship also opens up opportunities for cooperation in strengthening the club's business ecosystem, including banking services to support team operations and the training of young athletes.

Bank Jakarta Corporate Secretary, Arie Rinaldi, said this collaboration is part of the company's communication strategy in the midst of brand development.

"Through this synergy, Bank Jakarta not only presents brand exposure, but also builds more inclusive and relevant interactions with the sports community. The momentum of the 2026 IBL competition is the right platform to introduce various innovations in Bank Jakarta's services and programs to the young generation segment that is active, dynamic, and adaptive to digital developments," said Arie.
