In the midst of Hoaks onslaught, Hallonews.id launches with integrity commitment

JAKARTA - The national press industry has received new ammunition. The online media Hallonews.id was officially launched on Thursday (12/2/2026). The presence of this news portal received positive appreciation from the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Center and the ranks of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) as a step to strengthen a healthy information ecosystem.

The Chairman of the Central PWI, Akhmad Munir, assessed that the launch of Hallonews.id was a positive energy in the midst of the rapid flow of digital disinformation. According to him, the commitment of this media in maintaining quality journalism is crucial to rebuilding public trust.

"Hallonews.id was born with good intentions to strengthen a healthy and useful national press ecosystem. That intention is a good that must be maintained," said Munir at the Grand Launching event in Jakarta.

Journalist Integrity in the Era of Disruption

In the midst of the increasingly complex challenges of the media industry, Munir encourages media actors to stick to the code of ethics. He emphasized that even though technology is rapidly developing, the "spirit" of journalism should not be lost by the pragmatism.

Technology Adaptation: Media must be in harmony with digital progress but remain factual. Main Foundation: Integrity, professionalism, and compliance with the Code of Ethics for Journalists (KEJ). Public Needs: The public will always seek true and accurate news amid a flood of hoaxes.

"Journalists must be quality guardians. We believe that the public will return to looking for credible mainstream media as a reference for information," added Munir.

Fight Hoaks

Similar support came from Brigjen Pol S. Erlangga, Head of Public Relations of the National Police at the level of the second level of the National Police Public Relations Division. He hopes that Hallonews.id can become a strategic partner for the police in educating the public through digital literacy.

"Hallonews.id can become a strategic partner of the National Police in delivering accurate information to the public while countering the spread of false news or hoaxes," said Brigjen Pol S. Erlangga.

Carrying the tagline "Greeting with Facts", this media is determined to be an adaptive platform but still disciplined in verification. The Editor-in-Chief of Hallonews.id, Sumber Rajasa Ginting, expressed optimism that this media would be warmly received by readers.

"We are here to bring information closer to the public and policy makers with accurate facts. Professionalism and independence are a dead price for us," said Ginting.

With this inauguration, Hallonews.id is expected to be able to contribute to maintaining the quality of democracy in Indonesia through responsible and educational news coverage.
