Pedestrian Killed by Transjakarta Bus in Margasatwa Raya

JAKARTA - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a Transjakarta bus on Jalan Margasatwa Raya westbound, specifically at the DDN Park Bus Stop, South Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon at around 14.20 WIB.

The Head of the Traffic Police Sub-Directorate of Traffic Police, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, explained that the accident involved a Transjakarta bus with the police number B-7756-TGC and a pedestrian who was a resident of Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Ojo said the incident began when the bus was traveling from east to west on Jalan Margasatwa Raya.

"Upon arrival at the crime scene, namely at the DDN Park Bus Stop, the rear wheel of the BusTransjakarta Vehicle NRKB B-7756-TGC allegedly ran over a pedestrian, brother Sutaji," Ojo said in his statement, Thursday, February 12.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered head injuries and died on the spot. Currently, the case is being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"As a result of the accident, a pedestrian was injured and died at the scene of the crime, then taken to Fatmawati General Hospital to request a visum et repertum," he said.

Confirmed separately, the Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of PT Transportasi Jakarta, Ayu Wardhani, expressed condolences over the incident.

He emphasized that Transjakarta had completely handed over the handling and investigation process to the police and respected the legal procedures that were running.

"Currently, we are handing over the entire process of handling and investigation to the police and respecting the legal procedures that are running. The case is currently being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya," said Ayu.
