Golkar Assures Adies Kadir Will Be Replaced by Her Own Daughter, the Second Most Votes Caleg

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party stated that the change of time (PAW) in the Golkar Faction of the DPR to replace Adies Kadir who resigned as a member of the DPR in accordance with the existing mechanism.

Golkar ensured that Adies would be replaced by the candidate with the most votes below him from the East Java I constituency, none other than his own daughter, Adela Kanasya Adies.

"We have sent the letter. So in Golkar, in fact, it is customary in Golkar to only say that it is replaced by the candidate with the next vote," said Golkar Secretary General Muhammad Sarmuji at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 12.

"Sometimes we do put his name, sometimes not. So if there is a need to put his name to confirm, we put it. If not, no. But often we don't put his name," he continued.

Adies Kadir resigned as deputy speaker of the DPR and a member of the DPR from the Golkar Faction after being approved as a candidate for Constitutional Court (MK) judge proposed by the DPR.

Sarmuji emphasized that there would be no other name to replace Adies Kadir other than the second order of the most votes for Golkar candidates from the East Java I constituency.

"What is clear is that there is legal certainty in Golkar. It is not possible for Golkar to continue to have the highest number of votes to be skipped by the candidate with the smallest number of votes, it does not exist in Golkar. If you are a candidate in Golkar, it is safe. We will not play with the people's decision that they have made in the election," said the Head of the Golkar Faction of the DPR.

"So if the replacement is Mr. Adies, then he will be replaced by the next candidate with the next vote, not by the next candidate, the next one again," added Sarmuji.

For information, in the 2024 Pileg in the East Java I District, Adies Kadir obtained 147,185 votes. Meanwhile, in second place was Adela Kanasya Adies who won 12,792 votes.

Thus, Adies Kadir's position as a member of the DPR will automatically be replaced by his son, Adela Kanasya Adies.

This has also been conveyed by the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia.

"According to the rules that the PAW is carried out, who will replace it is the most votes after the members of the DPR are elected. And by coincidence, the number two from Mr. Adies is his daughter," said Bahlil at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, February 5.
