Spend Rp10.9 Billion, Pramono Inaugurates Maroedja Sport Park in Kembangan

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Maroedja Sport Park in Kembangan, West Jakarta. The sports facility, which stands on land of around 2.2 hectares, was built with a budget of Rp. 10.9 billion from a total requirement of around Rp. 12 billion.

Pramono's arrival was greeted by young athletes from the DKI Jakarta Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) Student Sports Training Center who were practicing in the area. The area of 22,635 square meters is now equipped with basketball courts, mini soccer, jogging tracks, and open spaces for community activities.

Pramono said the construction of the Maroedja Sport Park was the result of collaboration between the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI Jakarta DPRD in rearranging the land which was previously known as Ki Aman Square.

"This is indeed only the first phase, it will be completed in the second phase. This is also part of the Meruya Corridor Area arrangement to increase the availability of public green open spaces and become a venue for social interaction in Jakarta," said Pramono, Thursday, February 12.

He explained that the total budget that had been disbursed amounted to Rp. 10.9 billion. Meanwhile, it is still needed around Rp. 1 billion to complete the second phase of construction.

Pramono asked the West Jakarta Administration City Government together with Dispora to immediately complete the continuation of the project. He opened the possibility of direct intervention from the City Hall if progress was hampered.

"Later, if it cannot be resolved, the DKI Jakarta Government, in this case the City Hall, will intervene to resolve it. This is because we are trying to develop a sustainable sports ecosystem, as well as strengthening Jakarta's role as a leading sport tourism destination in the regional area," he explained.

According to him, the location of the Maroedja Sport Park is quite strategic and is needed by the surrounding community. In the future, this facility will be equipped with lighting and videotron systems so that it can be used until the evening.

"Therefore, with the presence of this public facility, we invite residents to take care of Maroedja Sport Park as part of the identity of the city in the midst of the development of a growing Jakarta," said Pramono.

In concept, Maroedja Sport Park is designed as a green open space with a Sponge City Infrastructure approach. This area is divided into four main zones, namely the receiving, sports, recreation, and water absorption zones.

The receiving zone includes the main gate, parking area, and toilets. The sports zone is equipped with basketball courts, mini soccer, and jogging tracks. Meanwhile, the recreation zone contains a forest cafe, playground, volleyball court, and UMKM plaza. The water absorption zone is equipped with retention ponds and forest walk paths to support the ecological functions of the area.
