JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung spoke out about the accident suffered by an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver on the Grogol Flyover, West Jakarta, after hitting a pothole.

Pramono apologized for the incident. He emphasized that there was no element of negligence from the local government regarding the damaged road conditions.

"If there is an event like what happened in Grogol, yes it is an event that the Jakarta Government certainly apologizes for and has no desire at all to let it happen," said Pramono in West Jakarta, Thursday, February 12.

He also asked the public to be more careful when driving, especially at points where roads are potentially damaged. Regarding the victim's condition, Pramono admitted that he had not received a detailed report.

The DKI Provincial Government, he continued, is currently carrying out massive patching of potholes in various areas of Jakarta. Based on the data collection last week, there were around 6,000 potholes on the capital's roads.

"So now this patching is being done massively. Indeed, the holes that we counted last week were 6,000, we have almost completely patched them," said Pramono.

"Whether the patch has completely solved the coverage of Jakarta, I have to say no," he continued.
