Redmi K90 Ultra Rumored to Release This Month, Comes with Cooling Fan and 8,500mAh Battery

JAKARTA - Redmi is rumored to be preparing to launch the Redmi K90 Ultra for the Chinese market. This device will be the successor to the Redmi K80 Ultra which debuted in June 2025. The latest report says that the K90 Ultra is likely to launch faster than its predecessor.

This information is reinforced by a leak from a trusted tipster on Weibo who said that a sub-series smartphone focused on performance with the Dimensity 9500 chipset is in the development stage. Although it does not mention the name of the device directly, it is likely that the Redmi K90 Ultra is meant.

The device with the model number 2604FRK1EC was previously detected in the GSMA IMEI database in December 2025 with the Redmi K90 Ultra branding. The number "2604" in the model code indicates a potential launch in April 2026 in China.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, not the Dimensity 9500 Plus version as rumored. The "Plus" variant is expected to arrive in the second half of this year.

Gaming Focus with Internal Cooling Fan

One of the main highlights of the Redmi K90 Ultra is the presence of an internal cooling fan, which is claimed to be the first on a Xiaomi phone. This feature shows a strong focus on gaming performance and temperature stability during long periods of heavy use.

In addition, this device is rumored to carry a large 6.8-inch screen with a 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate of up to 165Hz, making it one of the highest in its class.

For durability, the Redmi K90 Ultra is said to be equipped with a jumbo 8,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. Other specifications circulating include a metal frame, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor inside the screen, and full water resistance certification.

Global version: Xiaomi 17T Pro

For the global market, Xiaomi is said to be preparing the Xiaomi 17T Pro, which is a modified version of the Redmi K90 Ultra. This device with the model number 2602EPTC0G is likely not to include an internal cooling fan.

Although the model code also hints at a launch in the near future, the global release schedule is likely to wait for the launch of the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra series first. If it is according to estimates, the Xiaomi 17T Pro could debut in the first half of this year.

Until now, Redmi and Xiaomi have not given official confirmation regarding the specifications and launch schedule of the device.
