8 Upstream Oil and Gas Projects Ready to On Stream This Year, Total Investment Capau 478 Million US Dollars
JAKARTA - The Special Working Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) targets as many as 8 upstream oil and gas projects to be on stream by 2026. The total investment for the 8 projects is US $ 478 million.
"If we look at the total, the Capex from these 8 projects is US$ 478 million," said Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, in a Public Hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, February 11.
He detailed, the first project is Sidingin North-1 and Polymer Minas Area D which is managed by Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) and has a capacity of 325 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) with peak production at the same level and is targeted to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2026.
"Then for the Minas area, there are also 1,212 (BOPD) at PHR, which will be onstream in the second quarter of 2026," he said.
Furthermore, the project managed by PT Pertamina EP is the oil project at the Puspa Asri Field with a production potential of 1,034 BOPD, which is scheduled to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2026.
"That could be 1,034 barrels of oil per day in Q4 2026," added Djoko.
Then, the next project is dominated by gas and condensed gas. He explained, the project includes the Senoro South JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomoro Sulawesi, there is an additional production of 2,800 barrels of condensate per day which is expected to be onstream in the near future after Lebaran 2026 or the first quarter of 2026.
Furthermore, the project by Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore (ONWJ) which develops the OO-OX project and has the potential to produce almost 2,996 barrels of condensate per day which will be onstream in the first quarter of 2026.
"This is an OO-OX field or platform. It can be almost 3,000 barrels of condensate per day," he explained.
The former Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources added that for the gas project, there was an EMP Bentu which was targeted to produce 20 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, as well as an additional 90 BOPD of condensate, with a target of being onstream after Lebaran 2026 or the second quarter of 2026.
Furthermore, the Suban Compressor project owned by Medco E&P Grissik Ltd is expected to increase gas capacity to 118 MMSCFD. This project is aimed at maintaining production decline and is projected to be onstream in the second quarter of 2026.
"Then for the Suban Compressor Project, this is Medco. It can add an additional gas capacity of 118 MMSCFD, this is to maintain decline," continued Djoko.
Lastly, another large-scale gas project in the Sisi Nubi Field AOI 1, 3, 5 Phase II managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam. This project has a design capacity of 180 MMSCFD, with a peak production of around 120 MMSCFD, and is planned to be onstream in March 2026.
