Victim of Child and Father Abuse in Cengkareng Investigated by Police After Being Reported Back to the Perpetrator
JAKARTA - The victim of persecution in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Darwin (32) together with his wife, Angel, fulfilled the call of the West Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, because he was reported back by the alleged perpetrator.
Police questioned Darwin and Angel for three hours as reported for the charge of intimidation accompanied by violence.
"The examination lasted about three hours with 22 questions. The material questions were about the alleged intimidation accompanied by violence," said the victim's lawyer, Machi Ahmad at the West Jakarta Metro Police.
According to Machi, his client was reported back by the child of the alleged perpetrator of the persecution, namely NS for alleged threats of violence.
"We are here to fulfill the invitation to examination where our client is in the status of 'reported' for a counter-report made by the party who we had previously reported," said Machi.
During the examination, Darwin was asked a total of 22 questions by investigators regarding the accusation that Darwin was going to damage the music studio owned by the perpetrator.
"The reporter accused our client of pointing to the nose of Brother Nasio and telling people to destroy his music studio or drum equipment," said Machi.
Machi also denied all the accusations directed at his client and considered this report to be unfounded.
Machi emphasized that the position of Darwin and Angel is that the victims actually experienced physical violence by the perpetrators, namely DS and NS.
"In our opinion, the accusation is very unreasonable because our client's position here is a victim of persecution, but instead he is reported back as if he were making a threat of violence. This is very counter to the evidence we have," he said.
He added that the allegation of destruction of the drum studio had no clear factual basis.
"How can our client be accused of threatening to destroy the studio, when none of those words were uttered. We have denied all of these points in the Investigation Report (BAP) earlier," he said.
Another lawyer, Subadria Nuka, said Darwin and his wife had not even recovered from the physical injuries they had suffered.
Angel still has pain in his leg and walks with a limp after being hit by the perpetrator using a car.
Meanwhile, Darwin, who suffered injuries in nine points, still suffered a back injury after being kicked by the perpetrator.
"The fact is, to this day our client's legs are still limp and sick. Friends can see in the video how sadistically they are treated like animals," said Subadria.
As a victim, Angel admitted that he was still deeply traumatized, to the point that he was afraid to be at home.
"I am very traumatized. In fact, I even felt like I didn't want to go home because I didn't feel safe," he said.
Machi also warned that if the NS report was not proven, his party would not hesitate to take legal action to make a police report again.
"If later the report of Brother Nasio is not proven or lacks evidence, we ask that it be immediately stopped (investigation). We also reserve the legal rights of our clients to report back on the alleged 'False Report'," said Machi.
According to him, this report against Darwin is very damaging to the sense of justice for victims who suffered injuries as a result of persecution.
"This is very hurtful to our client who is a real victim of persecution," he said.
