Agrinas Food Boss: 30,611 Red and White Cooperative Units Built, But None Are Operating Yet

JAKARTA - PT Agrinan Pangan Nusantara President Director Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota revealed that the construction of the Red and White Cooperative outlets had reached 30,611 units, but none of them were operational. Of the total, 857 units are said to have the status of "finished building", while the other 29,557 are still under construction.

"Not yet (all operations), only three months...", said Joao after a meeting at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 11. According to him, the 857 units that were completed were still in the filling and delivery stage, because the procurement process was claimed to have been completed.

Joao targets that the unit that has been established can start to open after the business onboarding process is completed. "At most one month ... it can open," he said. However, he emphasized that until today there has been no unit that has actually been onboard.

When asked about the store model - including cold storage plans - Joao said that cold storage business was part of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, while his party focused on village outlets.

Regarding financing, Joao stated that the Rp200 trillion fund "has decreased" since three months ago. He said that the money that is now circulating for development and payment at the lower level reaches around Rp45 trillion per day today, along with the construction of tens of thousands of units.

He added that President Prabowo Subianto's instructions in the limited meeting, according to him, were only known as a request to check the progress.

"Is it already? How many?" he said, imitating the president's statement.
