Pasar Jaya Gandakan Pasar Murah Jadi 500 Kali Jelang Ramadan–Lebaran 2026
JAKARTA - Perumda Pasar Jaya has doubled the implementation of a cheap market ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026. This year, the activity is targeted to be held almost 500 times or almost doubled compared to 2025 which is around 250 times.
Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya Agus Himawan said this step was taken to maintain price stability while helping people's purchasing power.
"Last year the cheap market was around 250 times, this year we have increased it by almost 100 percent to approximately 500 times. This is part of our efforts to maintain the stability of supply and prices during Ramadan," said Agus in a discussion titled 'Preparation of Three Food BUMD Ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr' at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, February 11.
Throughout February, the cheap bazaar has been held in all sub-districts of East Jakarta and South Jakarta as well as in 116 Pasar Jaya outlets. Pasar Jaya will also hold a large bazaar at the City Hall in the second week of Ramadan with Food Station and Perumda Dharma Jaya.
In addition, food packages and holiday packages with prices ranging from Rp. 100 thousand to Rp. 300 thousand have been prepared.
"We have prepared food packages and holiday packages at affordable prices so that people can meet their basic needs more easily," he said.
In terms of supply, Agus ensured that stocks were safe. As of February 9, 2026, the stock of rice at Pasar Jaya outlets reached 331 tons, up from the previous 261 tons. There is also 84.3 tons of granulated sugar and almost 209 tons of cooking oil. At the market trader level, the rice stock was recorded at around 186 tons, plus SPHP rice of around 10.1 tons.
"We increase the frequency of delivery to the Thousand Islands to almost every week, according to the direction of the regional leadership, so that the food supply in the archipelago area remains safe during Ramadan," he said.
DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto emphasized that the Provincial Government continues to consolidate the food BUMD to ensure that services to the public run optimally. The company must also always improve, innovate and improve quality so that public confidence in the government can get better.
"We hope that the food BUMD in Jakarta can really be trusted, can be held accountable, and can meet the basic needs of the people in Jakarta," said Uus.
Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta KPKP Office, Hasudungan A. Sidabalok, reminded that the need for a number of commodities did increase during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
"Ahead of Ramadan and Eid, there was an increase in demand for a number of commodities such as chicken eggs, beef, garlic, and sweet peas. Entering Eid, chicken meat also increased significantly. Therefore, the role of Pasar Jaya in maintaining distribution in markets is very important," said Hasudungan.
