Amdal Document Soon to be Published, Groundbreaking of Masela Block Targeted Before Eid
JAKARTA - The Special Working Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) has provided the latest information regarding the Abadi Gas Field project in the Masela Block.
Chairman of the SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto said the first construction or ground breaking of this project is expected to be carried out in March 2026.
"Hopefully this can be groundbreaking before Lebaran, now we are preparing for groundbreaking, in the field," said Djoko in a Public Hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, February 11.
He added that the environmental impact analysis document (Amdal) will be submitted by the Ministry of Environment to SKK Migas on Thursday, February 12. The project is projected to start operating in 2030.
"For Inpex, God willing, tomorrow it will be handed over by the Minister of Environment to the SKK Migas. It will be able to produce God willing in 2030 or sooner," said Djoko.
Furthermore, Djoko said, the investment value for this gas liquefaction project was recorded at US $ 21 billion with a condensate tank of 35,000 barrels of condensate per day with a production capacity of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project will reach 9.5 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA)
"Now the FEED and POD tenders are underway. This may be the FID later, in 2026 or 2027," said Djoko.
