Dutch Police Arrests 15 People for 'Spreading ISIS Propaganda' via TikTok

JAKARTA - Dutch police said on Tuesday they had arrested 15 people suspected of spreading ISIS propaganda on TikTok, accusing them of trying to "incite others to commit terrorist crimes."

Police launched a nationwide operation against the suspects, aged between 16 and 53, following an investigation that began in August 2025.

ISIS propaganda, with Dutch translation, "includes calls to join the battle and glorify martyrdom," the prosecutor's office (OM) said in a statement, as reported by Al Arabiya from AFP (11/2).

A number of related TikTok posts have been viewed more than 100,000 times, authorities added.

Those arrested are suspected of "inciting to commit terrorist crimes, spreading ISIS propaganda, and/or participating in terrorist organizations," OM said.

In detail, thirteen suspects have Syrian citizenship. Three others are Dutch citizens. Four of the suspects are minors.

"Adoring and disseminating propaganda significantly undermines public security," OM said, while reminding that publishing ISIS propaganda is a punishable offense.

Authorities have not ruled out further arrests from their investigation.
