Gim Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game to be Released May 12 for Consoles and PC

JAKARTA - Supermassive Games officially announced Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game, the latest series from The Dark Pictures Anthology, which will be released on May 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

The developer and publisher said that pre-orders for the console version are available starting now, with a bonus in the form of a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition.

In Directive 8020, the story focuses on the condition of Earth which is on the verge of destruction. In order to find new hope, mankind sends the Cassiopeia colony ship to the planet Tau Ceti f, which is 12 light years from home.

However, the mission turned into a nightmare after Cassiopeia had an accident and the crew realized they were not alone.

They are hunted by a deadly alien organism that is able to mimic the shape of its prey, making the threat difficult to recognize as it can hide behind its own partner's face.

"As they fight to survive, they are faced with the hardest choice of all: to save themselves, they must risk the lives of everyone on Earth," the game's description reads.

Directive 8020 also introduces a number of new mechanisms, including a stealth system to avoid enemies that can appear from unexpected places.

Flashlight, but its light can attract the attention of aliens Scanner, to detect electronics and activate the system remotely Messenger, to communicate with the crew secretly Wedge Tool, to open doors or be used as an emergency weapon

Supermassive Games confirmed that the typical elements of The Dark Pictures are still present, such as branching storylines, difficult choices that determine the fate of the characters, and tense quick-time events.
