Preparing a New Album, Elephant Kind Introduces Four New Songs in 2026
Elephant Kind started 2026 with a new spirit. They released four new songs taken from their third studio album, More Time which is scheduled to be released this year.
The group, which was based in the UK, also presented live performances of the four songs that confirmed their artistic position and new material on the global stage. With a mixture of cross-genre indie alternatives as a poison, Elephant Kind has built a distinctive sound identity formed by their journey from home and abroad.
Bam Mastro (vocals, guitar), Bayu Adisapoetra (drums), and Kevin Septanto (bass) channel years of full-fledged displacement, personal growth, and sonic exploration into music that feels boundless yet rooted. Their innovation does not stop here, accompanying the momentum that is getting stronger as the band's global ambitions materialize.
These four latest releases introduce the more upbeat and dance-like side of Elephant Kind, complete with live videos of the four songs recorded in Jakarta. Plan and Exactly What I Needed were produced by Bam Mastro, while Hooked and Strangest Thing were produced with Iain Berryman (Arcade Fire, Wolf Alice, Beabadoobee, Sam Fender, Young Fathers) and recorded by Drew Dungate-Smith at Narcissus Studios, London. The mixing process was handled by Robert Adam Stevenson (QOTSA, Technicolours, Jeff Beck, KT Tunstall), while the mastering was done by Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios, London.
Through these four new materials, Elephant Kind conveys the most honest and courageous creativity and sensibility sonically, bridging introspection, urgency, and catharsis.
Written between the hustle and bustle of Jakarta and the contemplative silence of London, More Time marks a pivotal chapter for the band. Creatively produced and mixed by themselves, the album stands as a statement of resilience, growth, and unfiltered honesty.
This is the sound of a band shedding their old skin while holding tight to all the lessons they've learned along the way.
This third album is also a new step and a natural evolution for Elephant Kind. They are not afraid to mix the roots of alt-rock with breakbeats, as well as melancholy ballads with cathartic dance floors. This album does not just ask for more time; it demands full attention.
"We are very happy to finally be able to share our first single in 6 years, which opens the release of the full album. In the past few years, we have released songs one by one, but this time we have a complete album that we really believe in, finally ready to greet the world," said Elephant Kind in a written statement, February 8.
"More Time is Hip Hop, House, Rock, Eastern, Dance, and other genres that we can't even define with words - a twist of frequencies that draws you from one realm to the next. An innovation," concluded Bam Mastro.
