Bank Mandiri Disburses Rp15.1 Trillion in Social Assistance to 7.45 Million KPMs by 2025

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the level of inequality in Indonesia continues to improve where as of September 2025, the Gini ratio was recorded at 0.363, down 0.012 points compared to the position in March 2025.

The decline reflects the effectiveness of social protection policies that have been consistently implemented, especially through various social assistance (bansos) programs aimed at maintaining purchasing power while improving the welfare of vulnerable people.

The Sembako Program and the Family Hope Program (PKH) are the main instruments in this policy, with the target of sustainable pre-prosperous families.

The success of the implementation of social protection is also supported by the role of financial institutions in presenting an integrated, reliable, and wide-reaching distribution system.

As a strategic partner of the government, throughout 2025 Bank Mandiri has disbursed social assistance worth Rp. 15.1 trillion to more than 7.45 million Beneficiary Families (KPM) in 123 cities and regencies throughout Indonesia through the Sembako and PKH Programs.

Distribution of assistance is carried out periodically throughout the year in accordance with government regulations.

The process of data collection and updating of beneficiary data is also carried out routinely through an integrated system to ensure the accuracy of targets and data accuracy.

Bank Mandiri President Director Riduan said that the company continues to strengthen the integrated social assistance distribution ecosystem so that assistance can be received by the community in a targeted manner.

"We will continue to support the implementation of government programs, especially those directly related to the distribution of assistance to the wider community, to provide added value for strengthening the people's economy," said Riduan in an official statement, Wednesday, February 11.

He added that Bank Mandiri actively coordinates with ministries and various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the distribution of social assistance.

Riduan also conveyed that the synergy includes the stages of data collection, updating information, and distribution to beneficiaries in various regions.

According to him, this step is taken to maintain accuracy, target accuracy, and sustainability of social protection programs which are the government's priorities.

"Through close coordination with ministries and stakeholders, Bank Mandiri ensures that each stage of distribution runs in accordance with the provisions, from data validation to distribution in the field, so that assistance can be received by the community in a targeted and timely manner," said Riduan.

The effective distribution of social assistance is part of Bank Mandiri's contribution to maintaining the purchasing power of vulnerable groups, strengthening household consumption, and encouraging people-based national economic growth.

In addition to distributing social assistance, Bank Mandiri also supports government programs that aim to encourage recipients to be self-sufficient and to be removed from the list of recipients, and the government targets more than 300,000 people to graduate from the social assistance program by the end of 2026.

The program encourages recipients of assistance to start small businesses so that they can earn a more stable and sustainable income.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, he continued, Bank Mandiri has held a number of socialization activities for recipients of social assistance who have started their businesses, including providing motivational material, financial management education, and strengthening marketing strategies.

"Support for government priority programs is Bank Mandiri's ongoing commitment as a strategic partner of the government through integrated synergy, growing acceleration, and strengthening the BUMN ecosystem, to provide sustainable excellence and expand the real economic impact for the community," concluded Riduan.
