KPK Ensures Khofifah Testifies in the East Java Grant Fund Corruption Trial
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the Governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa is scheduled to appear as a witness in the trial of the alleged corruption case in the form of bribes for the East Java Provincial Community Group (Pokmas) Grant Fund 2019-2022 on Thursday, February 12.
Khofifah was actually scheduled to appear as a witness on Thursday, February 5 last week. However, at that time Khofifah was unable to attend so it was rescheduled for this Thursday.
"Last week the East Java governor was unable to attend because he had another agenda. It was rescheduled for this Thursday. The plan is for the afternoon," KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.
Budi emphasized that Khofifah's testimony was needed to make the East Java grant fund corruption case clear. Therefore, the KPK also hopes that Khofifah can attend the trial later.
"Mrs. Khofifah as a witness to explain regarding the BAP from the late Mr. Kusnadi, which explains the management of grant funds, not only in the legislature but also in the executive," said Budi.
In the investigation process of the alleged corruption case of the East Java grant fund, the KPK has summoned and examined Khofifah on Thursday (10/7/2025). The examination of Khofifah was carried out at the East Java Police. In examining Khofifah, the KPK revealed that he was investigating the APBD used for the East Java grant fund in the case.
In the case of alleged corruption of the East Java grant funds, the KPK has named 21 suspects, detailing that four suspects are bribe recipients and 17 others are bribe-giving suspects. Three of the recipient suspects are state organizers, while one suspect is a state organizer staff. Meanwhile, of the 17 bribe-giving suspects, 15 of them are private parties and the other two are state organizers.
In this case, Kusnadi received a commitment fee from each disbursement of grant funds provided to the field coordinator (Korlap) of the pokmas fund, amounting to 20%. The commitment fee was given by the korlap at the beginning or 'ijon' so that Kusnadi was willing to disburse the grant funds.
Kusnadi as the chairman of the East Java DPRD at that time received a share of the main thoughts grant (Pokir) funds from the APBD amounting to Rp. 398.7 billion in the 2019-2022 period. Every year, the amount of Pokir grant funds disbursed by Kusnadi varies.
In 2019, the pokir grant funds issued by Kusnadi were worth Rp. 54.6 billion. In 2020, Rp. 84.4 billion, 2021 Rp. 124.5 billion and in 2022 Rp. 135.2 billion. If calculated in total, then Kusnadi during the four years of disbursement of grant funds has received a commitment fee of up to Rp. 79.74 billion.
