Rafah Border Reopens for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Stranded Palestinians

JAKARTA - The Rafah border post in southern Gaza reopened on Tuesday, allowing a new group of patients and humanitarian cases to leave the Gaza Strip, and allowing the repatriation of those stranded on the Egyptian side.

WAFA correspondent reported that the seventh wave of humanitarian and medical patients departed for the Rafah border post after being processed at the Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, in the presence of representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO).

They are now on their way to receive medical treatment at a hospital outside the Gaza Strip, quoted from WAFA (10/2).

He also noted the arrival of the seventh wave of those stranded in Egypt on the Egyptian side of the border post before entering Gaza.

The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) confirmed that it facilitated the departure of 50 passers through the Rafah border post, including 19 patients, as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to facilitate the transfer of patients and humanitarian cases for treatment outside the Gaza Strip.

The statement confirmed that they were ready and received medical treatment at the Al-Mawasi field hospital, which is managed by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.

The ambulance team then transported and escorted them safely to the Rafah border, providing the necessary medical care along the way and ensuring their safety until the travel procedures were completed, all in very difficult humanitarian and health conditions.

Previously, about 40 patients and their companions left the Gaza Strip, and another 40 Palestinians stranded in Egypt arrived in Gaza on Monday.
