Lebaran Stimulus 2026, Government Discounts for Train and Pelni Tickets 30 Percent

JAKARTA - The government has rolled out transportation stimulus again during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period by providing a 30 percent discount on train and Pelni boat tickets.

This policy is expected to ease the burden of people's travel costs while encouraging the smooth flow of homecoming.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed that a discount on train tickets will be given to 1.2 million passengers.

"That is for the period of travel from March 14 to 29, 2026," Airlangga said at a press conference at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.

Meanwhile, continued Airlangga, the discount for Pelni passenger ship tickets is allocated for 445 thousand passengers with a travel validity period from March 11 to April 5, 2026.

In addition to trains and Pelni ships, the government also provides stimulus in the form of a 100 percent discount on port services tariffs on the PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) ferry service.

"The target is 945,000 units of vehicles and 2.4 million passengers," said Airlangga.

According to Airlangga, the provision of this transportation stimulus is part of the government's strategy in maintaining people's purchasing power and encouraging mobility during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

"Lebaran or Idulfitri has proven in the past period, including Nataru, to increase community mobility and tourist activities, so that it is able to encourage economic growth in the last quarter of last year to 5.39 percent," he said.
