TNI Member Who Beat Ojol Driver in Kembangan Ends Peacefully
JAKARTA - The case of a TNI member who abused an online motorcycle taxi driver named Hasan (26) in Kembangan, West Jakarta, finally ended peacefully. The dispute between the two was resolved in a family way through mediation at the Police on Monday, February 9, 2026, evening.
"Alhamdulillah last night I met the perpetrator, it was clear, peaceful in the place," said Hasan, quoting ANTARA, Tuesday.
Hasan also withdrew the report and chose to forgive the perpetrator. During the meeting, the perpetrator also admitted his mistake for hitting Hasan with a blunt object.
"The perpetrator admitted his actions and apologized. He has provided compensation and medical expenses as well," said Hasan.
Hasan said the perpetrator committed abuse because of emotion because at the time of the incident his wife was sick.
"He said that it was indeed because of emotions alone, because he was tired of going home and his wife was sick," said Hasan.
The online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver explained that the passenger named Nur who he was carrying at that time turned out to be a massage therapist for the perpetrator's wife.
"So this Ms. Nur who I sent was a regular masseuse from his wife. His wife is sick," he said.
However, Nur's arrival was hampered because the location point ordered in the application was not accurate.
"The father came home tired from work, so the father was emotional because his wife was sick but the masseuse didn't come because of the wrong address," said Hasan.
Hasan also thanked the parties who had gone viral for this case, thus accelerating the resolution of the problem of the persecution.
Hasan complained about the slow response of the police because of the status of the perpetrator as a police officer. However, after this case became a public spotlight, mediation was immediately carried out.
"What is clear is that first I would like to thank you for all who helped to speak out, thanks to the media, and finally we can solve the problem," said Hasan.
Hasan also emphasized the importance of the function of state officials to be a protector, not a threat to citizens.
"Yes, my message is that there should be no more violence against citizens, especially by the authorities. The state must take better care of, protect fellow citizens as well," he said.
