Social Assistance 10 Kg Rice-2 Liter Oil Starts Ramadan, Mensos: Dynamic Assistance Recipients
JAKARTA - The government is preparing social cushions to maintain purchasing power ahead of Ramadan and Eid.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said food assistance in the form of 10 kg of rice and 2 liters of cooking oil will be provided for two months. This assistance targets beneficiary families from desil 1-4, with an estimated budget of Rp. 11.92 trillion, and is planned to be distributed starting in Ramadan/February.
"The government is also distributing food assistance, namely the form of 10 kg of rice and 2 liters of cooking oil for 2 months," said Airlangga in his statement to reporters at the Religious Holiday Transportation Tariff Discount Stimulus (HBKN) Idulfitri 2026 event at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.
Meanwhile, Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf, who gave information after Airlangga, explained that social assistance through the Ministry of Social Affairs was divided into two. First, regular social assistance (food assistance and PKH) for 18 million KPM, with a budget of Rp. 17.5 trillion. Second, adaptive social assistance, including disaster assistance "more than Rp. 2.3 trillion" and a total social rehabilitation assistance/attention budget of Rp. 20 trillion.
"There are two types of social assistance. The first is regular social assistance... then the second is adaptive social assistance," said Saifullah.
Saifullah said that so far more than Rp17 trillion had been disbursed, the rest followed in January, February, and March, and then continued in the second quarter (April-June). He emphasized that the recipients of social assistance are dynamic because they refer to a single data that is continuously updated by the Central Bureau of Statistics - recipients can change between trimesters.
Because it is dynamic, Saifullah said there is a process that must be taken, starting from opening an account to the distribution mechanism. He said the distribution was also carried out through PT Pos Indonesia, especially to ensure that the assistance could reach the recipient according to the data update.
To dampen the data controversy, the Ministry of Social Affairs opened a proposal-objection channel through the formal channel from RT/RW to the local government, as well as a channel for public participation through the 021 171 call center and WA center whose number will be announced, and the Cek Bansos application. After that, the results were submitted to BPS for verification-validation and desil ranking.
Saifullah emphasized that the focus of assistance was directed to desil 1-2. If there is still a budget allocation, it can be expanded to desil 3-4.
