WFA ASN Implemented, Government Ensures Public Services Remain Optimal

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) officially issued Circular Letter Number 2 of 2026 which regulates the adjustment of the implementation of civil service tasks flexibly or work from anywhere (WFA) for state civil servants (ASN) during two periods of joint leave, namely Nyepi and Idul Fitri.

PANRB Minister Rini Widyantini explained that during the Nyepi holiday, the WFA policy was implemented on March 16 and 17, meanwhile, for the Idul Fitri period, the flexible work scheme was applied on March 25, 26, and 27.

"The adjustment of the implementation of the service task is flexible, namely 2 days before the national holiday and the common holiday of Nyepi, namely on March 16 and 17. Then also 3 days after the national holiday and the common holiday of Eid al-Fitr, namely on March 25, 26 and 27," said Rini in a press conference, Tuesday, February 10.

However, Rini emphasized that the regulation of the implementation of WFA was left to each ministry and agency independently and selectively.

He added that this is aimed at ensuring that public services, especially in strategic sectors, continue to run normally.

"We hope that government agencies will continue to carry out essential public services, which have a direct impact on the community optimally such as health services, transportation services, security, and other strategic services even during the national holiday period," he said.

Rini also emphasized the importance of the role of agency leaders in carrying out continuous monitoring and supervision so that the implementation of work flexibility can take place in an orderly manner and does not interfere with the provision of public services.

"And the heads of agencies to divide the number of ASN who will carry out their duties in the service both in the office and outside the office," he explained.

In addition, he said that ASN was still required to uphold the principle of accountability and optimize the use of electronic-based government systems while carrying out their duties with the WFA scheme.

"For ASN employees who continue to prioritize accountability and optimization of the use of electronic-based government systems. Government agencies are expected to actively continue to open access to complaint channels, both through SPM4 Report www.lapor.go.id or A2 Face-to-Face channels, as well as other media and continue to conduct surveys of public satisfaction through QR Codes in each service unit connected to the lapor.go.id channel," he said.

Rini again reminded all ASN and agency leaders to ensure that there is no practice of giving or receiving gratification related to the position and responsibilities of the service.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that the government would implement a work flexibility policy through the Work From Anywhere (WFA) or Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) scheme during the Idul Fitri holiday period.

According to Airlangga, the policy aims to optimize the management of community mobility while making it easier to plan travel during religious holidays.

"Then at the time to optimize community mobility, and make it easier for people to plan their trips, during the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr, flexibility is given in determining working days, especially for ASN and also for private workers," he said.

Meanwhile, the implementation of this policy will be further regulated through a circular issued by the Ministry of PANRB and the Ministry of Manpower.
