Commission V of the DPR asks the Ministry of Transportation to carry out massive socialization of free homecoming 2026

Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Ruslan M. Daud, asked the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to intensify the socialization of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr free homecoming program so that information about the service reaches all levels of society evenly.

He assessed that massive socialization was the key to making the public understand the mechanism, schedule, and registration requirements. Without widespread dissemination of information, Ruslan is worried that this program will not be optimally absorbed by the community groups that need it most.

"This free homecoming program is very beneficial for the middle and lower classes. The state must ensure that information reaches the bottom level, not just circulate in limited spaces," Ruslan told reporters, Tuesday, February 10.

Ruslan explained, in the 2026 Lebaran season, the Ministry of Transportation will again provide free bus fleets with routes including West Java, Central Java, East Java, DIY, to Sumatra. He emphasized, this program is not just a transportation facility, but a form of the state's presence in alleviating the economic burden of citizens in the midst of a surge in transportation fares during the homecoming.

Therefore, the PKB legislator asked the Ministry of Transportation to be transparent about the quota and registration techniques so as not to make it difficult for prospective travelers.

"The conditions must be simple and easy to understand. Don't let small communities have difficulty accessing because of lack of information," said Ruslan.

Even though it is free of charge, Ruslan reminded the government to continue to make the safety and suitability standards of the fleet a top priority. He hopes that people can go home safely, comfortably, and responsibly.

"Lebaran is a sacred momentum for Muslims to reconnect with parents and relatives in their hometowns, so it should be if the government facilitates homecoming carefully," he concluded.
