Government prepares stimulus for Eid 2026, transportation discount reaches Rp911.16 billion

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government has prepared a budget of Rp911.16 billion for various transportation discounts during the National Religious Holiday (HBKN) period of Eid al-Fitr 2026.

"This year, in the context of national holidays, the government provides economic stimulus in the form of transportation discounts, with a total budget of Rp. 911.16 billion from the state budget and non-state budget," he said in a press conference, Tuesday, February 10.

Meanwhile, the discount covers the railway, maritime, crossing, and air transport sectors.

For train mode, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) provides a 30 percent discount on fares for travel in the period 14-29 March 2026 with a target of 1.2 million passengers.

Meanwhile, PT Pelni's maritime transport provides a 30 percent discount from the basic tariff for the period of March 11-April 5, 2026 with a target of 445,000 passengers.

On the ASDP crossing transport, the government provides a 100 percent discount for port services in the period 12-31 March 2026 and this program is targeted to serve 945,000 vehicles and 2.4 million passengers.

Meanwhile, for air transportation, the government provides a 17-18 percent discount on the fare for domestic economy class flights in the period 14-29 March 2026 with a target of 3.3 million passengers.

In addition to transportation stimulus, Airlangga said the government also implemented a work flexibility policy in the form of Work From Anywhere (WFA) or Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA) during the Idul Fitri holiday.

"Then at the time to optimize community mobility, and make it easier for people to plan their trips, during the religious holiday of Eid al-Fitr, flexibility is given in determining working days, especially for ASN and also for private workers," he said.

Meanwhile, this policy applies to March 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27, 2026 for state civil servants (ASN) and private workers, while the technical provisions will be regulated through a circular from the Ministry of PANRB and the Ministry of Manpower.
