Pramono Wants the Perpetrators of the Water Spraying in Cempaka Putih to Be Taken Seriously, There is No Compromise 

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded harshly to the case of water spraying by students in the West Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta. He emphasized that this action was a serious form of violence that could not be tolerated, whoever the perpetrator.

Pramono assessed that violence with hard water has long-term effects on victims, both physically and psychologically. Therefore, handling cases like this should not be half-hearted and should have a deterrent effect.

"Whoever does this, it is already an act of violence, I ask for firm action. There is no compromise for that," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.

Previously, the Police investigated a case of a student pouring hard water on fellow students on Jalan Cempaka Raya, Cempaka Putih Barat, Central Jakarta, on Friday, February 6 at around 16.00 WIB.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Roby Heri Saputra said investigators had secured and analyzed the viral video related to the incident.

From the results of the preliminary investigation, the police have obtained the identity of the perpetrator as well as the vehicle used by the perpetrator while carrying out his criminal act.

"We also know the identity, but this is a possibility, from the perpetrator, the vehicle or the perpetrator himself," said Roby.

The police confirmed to one of the victims who suffered eye injuries due to the hard water spray. Therefore, the police have not been able to take statements from the victim.

For the victim, there were injuries to the eyes that were treated at the hospital, but now he has returned home. "However, given the circumstances, the victim is still not ready to be questioned by the police," he said.

Following the perpetrator and the victim are still minors, the case is now handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

In the viral video, the three perpetrators rode a motorcycle after preparing hard water to spray the victim. Meanwhile, the victim and two of his friends also drove from the opposite direction using a motorcycle.

When the victim's motorcycle approached, the perpetrator's motorcycle cut off the victim's lane, then the perpetrator sprayed hard water towards the victim.

After launching the action, the perpetrators fled the scene. The victim's bicycle continued to drive away from the location. In the video, the victim is seen holding his eyes due to pain.
