10 Corruption Convicts Setwan DPRD Kepahiang Bengkulu Sentenced to 1-6 Years in Prison

Bengkulu - The Bengkulu Corruption Criminal Court (PN Tipikor) Panel of Judges has sentenced 10 defendants to varying prison sentences for corruption in the use of the budget at the Kepahiang Regency DPRD Secretariat in the 2019-2024 fiscal year.

"The judge's decision accommodates all the prosecutor's demands. We will report first before deciding," said the Public Prosecutor (JPU) and Head of the Special Criminal Section (Kasi Pidsus) of the Kepahiang District Prosecutor's Office, Febrianto Ali Akbar in Kepahiang, Tuesday.

In the case, the panel of judges stated that the defendants were proven to be legally and convincingly together to commit a corruption crime that resulted in state losses of more than Rp. 28 billion.

The defendants were found to have violated Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Crime Law in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code, as charged by the Deputy Prosecutor of the Kepahiang District Attorney's Office.

The criminal sentences imposed varied, ranging from one year and six months to six years in prison, accompanied by fines and the obligation to pay compensation.

On the other hand, the defendant's lawyer team, Windra Purnawan, namely Abdusy Syakir, stated that his party also expressed his thoughts and coordinated with his client before expressing his attitude.

The sentences handed down by the Panel of Judges to the 10 defendants in the corruption case in the Kepahiang Regency DPRD Secretariat varied, ranging from one year and six months to six years in prison, accompanied by a fine and the obligation to pay compensation.

Details of the Defendant's Verdict

Former Kepahiang Regency DPRD Chairman Windra Purnawan was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million, with two months in prison.

Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chairman I of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD Andrian Defandra was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and was ordered to pay compensation of Rp. 1.41 billion, a fine of one year and six months in prison.

The defendant, Didi Rinaldi, former Treasurer of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD Secretariat Expenditure for the 2022-2023 period, was sentenced to five years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and was charged with a substitute fine of Rp. 7 billion, a substitute of two years in prison.

The heaviest sentence was given to the former Secretary of the Council (Sekwan) of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD, Roland Yudistira, who was sentenced to six years in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million subsider two months, and was required to pay compensation of Rp. 7 billion subsider two years in prison.

In addition, the former Treasurer of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD in 2021, Yusrinaldi, was sentenced to five years in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and a fine of Rp. 7 billion.

From the legislative element, former Kepahiang Regency DPRD member for the 2019-2024 period, RM Johanda was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and was required to pay compensation of Rp. 538 million, a fine of one year and six months in prison.

A similar verdict was also handed down to Joko Triono, a former member of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, with a sentence of three years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and a substitute fine of Rp. 700 million, a substitute for one year and six months in prison.

Meanwhile, the defendant Maryatun, a former member of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 50 million, and an obligation to pay compensation of Rp. 72 million subsider one year in prison.

Meanwhile, former Kepahiang Regency DPRD member for the 2019-2024 period, Budi Hartono, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, and a substitute fine of Rp. 642 million, and a substitute sentence of one year and six months in prison.

Finally, former member of the Kepahiang Regency DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, Nanto Usni, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsider of four months, and an obligation to pay compensation of Rp. 514 million, a subsider of one year and six months in prison.
