PEKANBARU - As many as 15 members of the Pekanbaru City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol), including the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit, Iwan Samuel Parlindungan Simatupang, have been confirmed to have COVID-19.
When confirmed, Iwan Simatupang confirmed that he was exposed to the virus, which was first epidemic in Wuhan, China. According to him, this is a job risk as a member of the Pekanbaru City COVID-19 Task Force.

Iwan Simatupang said all the work carried out by the Satpol PP ranks was solely for the sake of enforcing the rules to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
All Pekanbaru City Satpol PP members who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 were asymptomatic (OTG). For this reason, his party agreed to self-isolate in their respective homes.
"We have conveyed to members, if anyone wants to be isolated in a hospital, they can go directly to Madani Hospital," he explained.
Due to this incident, Iwan will further tighten the health protocol within the agency. He has also coordinated to spray disinfectant in his office.
"I asked BPBD to spray the Satpol PP office. The whole room. Maybe it was done today," said Iwan.
Kasatpol PP also appealed to Satpol PP members and the general public not to ignore health protocols because COVID-19 is real.
"COVID-19 is real. So, obey and be disciplined about health protocols. Take care of your health, keep your spirits up, don't ignore health protocols. Wear a mask, that's the most important thing," he said.
