Jasa Marga Projects 3.6 Million Vehicles to Leave Jabodetabek during Lebaran Holidays 2026

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) projects that as many as 3.6 million vehicles will leave the Jabodetabek area during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period. This figure is estimated to be in line with the length of the Lebaran holiday this year.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan Achmad Purwantono said the projection was based on historical traffic data owned by the company.

"In Lebaran 2026, from the data we have, we will estimate that the holiday will reach 3.6 million vehicles," said Rivan in a press conference for the Travoy Mobile Apps at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Monday, February 9.

Of the total vehicles leaving Jabodetabek, around 50 percent are projected to move eastwards, 28 percent to the west or Merak and 20.7 percent to the south via Ciawi.

According to Rivan, the flow towards the east is the main concern because most vehicles will head to the Trans Java Toll Road. Of the 50.4 percent of vehicles heading east, an estimated 57 percent are expected to head to Trans Java, while the other 42 percent head to Bandung.

The projection, continued Rivan, was compiled based on the experience of traffic management in the previous Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period. Rivan assessed that the level of accuracy of the calculation of traffic on Jasa Marga in Nataru 2025 reached almost 100 percent or around 90.9 percent.

In addition to the homecoming flow, Jasa Marga also projects that the Lebaran 2026 return flow will reach around 3.5 million vehicles. The movement pattern is expected to be relatively the same, with 50 percent of the vehicles returning from the east, 28 percent from the west and the rest from the Ciawi direction.

However, the proportion of vehicles from Trans Java is expected to decrease slightly to around 55 percent due to the possibility of a delay in return time.

"This is one activity that we and all the directors are preparing, which fully supports the preparation of Lebaran and is ready to provide the best service for all users of the Jasa Marga toll road," added Rivan.
