Optimistic Document Judge Rejects Pre-Trial Petition for Richard Lee

JAKARTA - The figure who is familiarly called Doktif (Detective Doctor) expressed his optimism regarding the pretrial hearing process filed by Doctor Richard Lee at the South Jakarta District Court.

Doktif believes that the judge will act objectively and reject Richard Lee's pretrial lawsuit.

This Doktif belief is not without reason. He highlighted the integrity of the judicial institution which is now in the public spotlight, especially after the recent Operation Tangkap Tangan (OTT) in the court environment.

"It's more optimistic (it will be rejected). Because with the presence of the OTT of the Court, the Chief Judge is in the Depok Court," said Doktif in South Jakarta, Monday, February 9.

According to him, the OTT event was a stern warning for the judges not to play around with the case. He believes that the power in the hands of the judges today will be used with full responsibility for justice.

"So Doktif is more confident that there will be no judge who dares to use his power, using the power in his hands to play with the law," he said.

In addition to the factor of judge integrity, the document also praised the professional steps shown by the investigators of the Polda Metro Jaya. He assessed that the process of determining the suspect had gone through a very mature stage and met all applicable legal requirements.

The process, which takes a long time in determining the suspect, according to the document, actually shows that the police want to ensure that there are no legal loopholes that can be questioned later.

"The document is confident that the judge will be straight, will be 'red and white'. Why? Because all the requirements for the determination of suspects have been met by the Polda Metro Jaya. That's why the process takes a long time, because we don't want there to be such a gap," he explained again.

Closing his statement, Doktif reiterated his belief that the law would be enforced according to its corridor. He predicted that the judge would win the Metro Jaya Police in the pretrial ruling.

"So Doktif is confident that the judge will be 'red and white' and will win the Metro Jaya Police," he concluded.

This lawsuit originated from Dr. Richard Lee, who was named a suspect by the Polda Metro Jaya in a case of alleged violations in the field of health and consumer protection related to beauty products and services marketed by him.

The determination of the suspect status was based on a report from a consumer named Dr. Detective Doctor or Doktif.

The police named Richard Lee as a suspect on December 15, 2025 after the police report with the number LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya was processed.

The pretrial lawsuit was filed by Richard Lee to the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) with the main purpose of testing the validity of the determination of the status of the suspect made by the Polda Metro Jaya. The application is registered with Case Number 6/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL.

According to Richard Lee's legal team, this pretrial was filed because they objected to the steps of investigators who established the status of a suspect without procedures or legal reasons that were considered sufficient by the Richard Lee party. The legal advisory team believes that they can win this pretrial.
