This is the List of Samsung Devices That Will Not Receive the One UI 8.5 Update
JAKARTA - Samsung will launch One UI 8.5 along with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. The firmware is expected to be available by the end of February 2026.
After being released, Samsung will expand the firmware to older device models. Although a number of Samsung devices get support for updates for quite a long time, some devices will still lose the update.
According to a Gizmochina report, the list of devices that will lose access to One UI 8.5 is quite diverse, some of which have even received the Android 15 update. If your device is on the list, you should start looking for a new device.
The following is a list of Galaxy devices, both mobile phones and Android-based tablets, that do not qualify for the One UI 8.5 update.
Galaxy S series: Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, and older models. Galaxy Z series: Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and older folding models. Galaxy A series: Galaxy A23, A14, A05, A05s, and other older A series models. Galaxy M/F series: Galaxy M14, M05, F14, and F05. Galaxy Tab & XCover series: Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.One UI 8.5 is not just a small improvement because it is based on the development of Android 16 QPR2. This system brings deeper system-level features compared to previous versions.
Samsung will bring a highly flexible customization of the Quick Settings panel. The built-in app icons on Galaxy devices will now also look more modern with a subtle 3D visual effect touch.
Next, the lock screen on the One UI 8.5 update will be smarter because it can adjust the position of the clock automatically without covering the wallpaper. In addition, there is also a partial screen recording feature that only captures a certain area.
