Jambi Governor Reported to KPK Regarding Alleged Corruption in Stadium Project
JAKARTA - The construction of the Jambi Swarna Bhumi Stadium was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today. This project is suspected of being tainted with graft practices and dragging the name of Jambi Governor Al Haris along with a number of technical officials and partners in the project.
This report was submitted by Amanah Rakyat Indonesia (AMATIR) which said that the work was sourced from the APBD fund with a budget ceiling of Rp. 250 billion.
"AMATIR hereby submits a report on alleged corruption in the construction of the Stadium Building Project at the Jambi Provincial Public Works and Housing Office," said AMATIR Chairman Nardo Pasaribu, through his statement, Monday, February 9.
AMATIR said this report was based on the fact that the project in Muaro Jambi Regency was not in accordance with the specifications and planning in the contract document. In fact, the handover was carried out on January 23, 2025, so it has the potential to cause state losses.
There are several crucial points that are in the spotlight in the implementation of the project. Among them, the lack of a structure of 16,800 square meters in the North and South spectator stands.
Then, AMATIR also highlighted the mismatch of the stadium design. Instead of being circular, the building only stands on the west and east sides.
"It is estimated that it will cause state losses of up to Rp100 billion or more," he said.
Then, another report was also submitted by AMATIR regarding the alleged fictitious work in the form of a wheelchair road for the 2025 fiscal year with a budget realization of around Rp. 4.4 billion. There has been an audit conducted by the Jambi Provincial Inspectorate in 2024 regarding this matter.
Therefore, the KPK is asked to summon and examine Al Haris together with the Commitment Maker Official (PPK) with the initials EJ, Team Leader of GA Consultant Management, Project Manager DM, and President Director of PT SMC.
AMATIR also asked the KPK to directly appoint BPKP as an independent auditor, not an inspectorate. "As proof of this initial joint we attach documents," said Nardo.
Meanwhile, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo appreciated the report submitted by AMATIR. He also ensured that he would follow up on the report by verifying the validity of the information and data submitted.
"Furthermore, it will be examined and analyzed whether the complaint report includes elements of suspected corruption and is the authority of the KPK or not. For information enrichment, the team also proactively conducts a pulbaket," said Budi when confirmed.
"The KPK does not disclose the identity of the whistleblower and the substance of his report, including in confirming each complaint report received. However, as a form of accountability, the KPK conveys each progress only to the whistleblower party."
