Denada Flood of Falsehoods Without Basis, Family Threatens to Take Legal Action
JAKARTA - The management and family of singer Denada officially issued a statement regarding the spread of false information on social media.
Through the social media of her late mother, Emilia Contessa, the family denied the circulating narratives and slander and threatened to take legal action against the spreaders of hoaxes.
In the account, they emphasized the family's strong objection to gossip and unfounded personal assumptions.
"With this, the management and Denada's family convey an official statement regarding the circulation of information, narratives, and reports that are slanderous, unfounded, and cannot be legally held accountable in the public space, including on social media," the opening of the letter read, quoted by VOI from instagram @emiliacontessa57, Monday, February 9.
The family specifically highlighted the involvement of individuals who were deemed to have no authority and valid evidence in disseminating the issue.
The main point of this statement is a firm clarification regarding the number of Denada's biological children. The family stated that the information that said Denada had children other than Ressa and Aisha was a misleading slander.
"With this we confirm clearly and irrefutably, that: 1. Denada only has 2 (two) biological children, namely Ressa and Aisha," he continued.
"All forms of reporting... that mention Denada having children other than Ressa and Aisha are not true, misleading, and slanderous," the statement said.
In response to this, the family will not stay silent. They are seriously considering taking legal action, both criminal and civil, including using Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).
"Denada's management and family are seriously considering the use of legal efforts," the statement continued.
Denada himself, said in the letter, explicitly reserves all his legal rights to take any steps deemed necessary.
The family also strongly appealed to all parties to immediately stop the spread of speculation. Any further actions that are still carried out after this statement is issued will be considered as intentional acts and potentially have legal consequences.
"We hope for cooperation and understanding from the wider community to be wise and responsible," the statement concluded.
