Mobile Phone Thief Threatening Victims With Airsoft Guns In Tangerang Arrested

TANGERANG - Kresek Police, Tangerang, Banten Police arrested the perpetrator of the mobile phone (HP) thief with the initials JYD (26). The perpetrator carried an airsoft gun to frighten the victim.

The suspect JYD was arrested while committing theft with weight in a house, in Sidoko Village, Gunung Kaler District, Tangerang Regency.

"The suspect JYD (26), a resident of Klutuk Village, Mekar Baru District, Tangerang Regency, stole the homeowner's mobile phone by breaking into the victim's house," said Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Wahyu Sri Bintoro, in Tangerang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 1.

The incident came to light after the victim saw the perpetrator coming out of his house. Then he immediately checked the house and found his cellphone was missing.

Furthermore, the victim and one of the residents who were in the vicinity chased the perpetrators of the theft.

"After being arrested, the suspect admitted that he was looking for chickens. However, the victim then examined the suspect's body and found the victim's cellphone and a screwdriver in the perpetrator's bag," said Kombes Wahyu.

During a search of the suspect, an airsoft gun was also found. Residents then reported the incident to the nearest police officer.

Kombes Wahyu revealed, from the results of the report, his party would deepen the case, especially regarding the ownership of the airsoft gun found.

The suspect is currently undergoing intensive examination to determine the origin of the weapons he has.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code and Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 for possession of an airsoft gun, and this suspect is threatened with a sentence of up to 5 years in prison," he said.
