BANDARLAMPUNG - The Bandarlampung City Police (Polresta) are still investigating the death of a man in a boarding house on Jalan Untung Suropati, Labuhan Ratu District, with a face wrapped in plastic.

"We are still investigating and deepening the case of the death," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandarlampung Police, Kompol Gigih Andri Putranto, quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 8.

He also said that based on the results of CCTV footage at the hostel at the time of the incident, no one else entered the room with the victim.

"The CCTV footage shows that no one else entered the room, only the victim himself," he said.

He also said that at this time the police were still asking witnesses for information and identifying other things to be able to conclude the incident.

"There were no injuries and signs of violence on the victim's body. However, there were bruises on his face," he said.

Meanwhile, a witness from Bandarlampung, Agus, said that when he opened the door of the boarding house, the victim was already lifeless with his face wrapped in plastic.

"Yes, it happened on Friday (7/8), I helped open the door to the hostel. When it was opened, the position was dead, and it already smelled a little," he said.

He estimated that the victim had been dead for two days, because the pungent smell was smelled from the ventilation hole of the room when the door of the room was tried to be broken.

"Yes, at first there was a kosan person calling for help, I went there with several residents, he said there was someone inside but he didn't come out. Finally I saw from the ventilation that there really was," he said.

Then, he continued, together with a number of other residents and the local RT tried to pry open the window of the boarding house to get in but it turned out that the window was not locked from the inside.

"Because the window was not locked, we tried to grab the key to the dormitory room which was hanging on the door and managed to open it. Then we immediately called the police," he said.
