COVID-19 Update As Of June 1st: 4,828 New Cases, 5,360 Recovered Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 75,945 specimens were examined with the result that there were 4,824 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,826,527 people and today's active cases have fallen by 681 to 101,328," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, June 1.

Today's recovered cases increased by 5,360 cases, bringing the total to 1,674,479 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 145 people and a total of 50,723 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 892 cases and a total of 313,949 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 851 new cases with a total of 200,086 cases. DKI Jakarta has 519 new cases and a total of 430,059 cases. Then, Riau has 452 new cases and a total of 60,070 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 2,041 recovered cases. Followed by Riau with an additional 589 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 519 recovered cases, and West Sumatra with an additional 333 recovered cases.

There are four provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 16,804,288.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 13.93 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 61,108 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 16,594,581 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,714,300 of the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
