Pati Regency Government Proves the Success of the 10 Ton/Hectare Rice Harvest Program

PATI - The Pati Regency Government, Central Java, has proven the success of the Raya rice crop program of 10 tons per hectare, as an effort to increase productivity in the agricultural sector.

"The 10 tons per hectare program is not just a target, but has been tested in the field through intensive assistance to farmers," said Acting Regent of Pati Risma Ardhi Chandra while participating in the rice harvest with a production of 10.28 tons per hectare in Bumiharjo Village, Winong District, Pati Regency, Saturday.

Present at the harvest event, Member of Commission IV of the DPR RI Firman Soebagyo as proof of the success of the agricultural productivity improvement program initiated by the Pati Regency Government.

Risma explained that the harvest was the result of hard work across sectors, from the district to the village level.

"Today's activity (7/2), was attended by members of the Indonesian Parliament to prove the one hectare 10 ton program in Bumiharjo Village, Winong District. This morning it has been checked and the result is 10.28 tons," he said.

He considered the program extraordinary because the agricultural team from sub-districts to villages worked hard to carry out socialization and assistance.

He added that the increase in production would still use subsidized fertilizer in full, with the addition of the right supporting fertilizer.

According to him, the combination is able to increase the harvest which previously only ranged from 5-7 tons per hectare to more than 10 tons.

"Farmers here still use 100 percent subsidized fertilizer, plus supporting fertilizer. The result is that production can reach 10.2 tons. God willing, everything will be fine. It's just that these agricultural tools are a help that maybe Mr. Firman can help us," he said.

Meanwhile, member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives Firman Soebagyo appreciated the achievement of the Pati Regency Government in optimizing the production of Raya harvest rice.

He assessed that the success was in line with the national agenda to accelerate food self-sufficiency and strengthen food security.

"This is worth appreciating because the fact that the achievement of national food self-sufficiency is actually faster than the plan. The national rice stock at the beginning of this year reached 3.32 million tons. However, this achievement must be maintained with sustainability by anticipating crop failures and weather anomalies," he said.

Firman also emphasized the importance of improving fertilizer governance and strengthening the role of the state in stabilizing food prices.

He said the central government was preparing a policy to strengthen Bulog as a buffer for stocks and prices, as well as encouraging the use of organic and microbial fertilizers to maintain national agricultural productivity and sustainability.
