COVID-19 Cases In Singkawang Increase Drastically, There Are 94 New Cases In A Day

PONTIANAK - The Singkawang City Covid-19 Handling Task Force, West Kalimantan, said that currently there was a drastic increase in confirmed cases of COVID-19.

"The increase in cases has increased dramatically. Last Monday there was an increase of 94 cases and this is the first time this has happened here," said Singkawang City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson, Barita P Ompusunggu in Singkawang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 1.

He said, of the 94 cases, two of them came from outside the city. In addition, on the same day there were two confirmed cases that died, one from Sambas Regency.

"But on the same day there were no additional suspected patients," he said.

Currently, he continued, there were 29 confirmed patients being treated at the Abdul Aziz Hospital Singkawang, 7 of whom were from outside Singkawang. While the suspected patients who were treated were nil.

"Until today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 patients in Singkawang City is 530 people," he said.

As of May 30, the risk category for the increase in COVID-19 cases in Singkawang City is in the yellow zone, which means a low risk zone.

"We continue to remind them to remain disciplined and obey health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance and avoiding crowds and crowds," he said.
